Statement of Intent

My name is Bonnie Ambrose. I am 16 years old and I am attending sixth form. I am the oldest child and have two younger sisters one 13 and one 10, I like to see myself as a role model towards them and would hope they look up to me. I have a very supportive family and we are all very close neither of my parents went to university and I would like to be the first one of my family to go to university. My mum is a photographer, which I think I get my creative side from. 

 I am taking four subjects at A-Level which are, Media Studies, Business, ICT and Travel and Tourism. I am a confident talker and deal well with pressure, I would say these my strengths. My weakness is that I doubt myself too much, I always think I have done things wrong. I have a very determined mindset and always try to achieve more than possible. 

I didn't take media at GCSE so my understanding of the subject is limited, but I love to watch films, and having a Netflix account defiantly comes in handy. I love the all time classics 'The Wizard of Oz' 'Grease' 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'. My favourite genre of films are either action or comedy's. My favourite actors are Jim Carey, Johnny Depp and Emma Stone. I find them all very funny and feel happy after watching a film that they're in. I would love my understanding of how films are made and the media involved in it to be widened as I do really enjoy the creative part of that. I am still clueless of what career I would like to pursue  in and hope that media could be apart of it. 

I want to achieve a good grade in Media and be proud of it, without taking this course at GCSE I am going to try my hardest and put my all in so I can achieve what I know I can. I think this course is going to be a lot of fun but also useful for me and hope that I can use my knowledge in the future.
